This is a titanium tribute. It's actual size (3" x 2"). Titanium is extremely hard to image, and this scan could not capture the definition of the 4 pt. Times New Roman type. I wanted to see if I could image type that small on titanium. It's perfectly readable. Click image for an enlargement of a section.

This is a tribute I did for my grandmother, Christine Yanson. A duplicate was placed on her bronze for marker in Charleston, SC. Size: 3 1/2" x 1 7/8". The photo was very hard to duplicate. It was taken from a wedding photo in 1947. There was limited contrast, and the face was small. I used 8 pt. Times New Roman on this tribute so I could get more lines. This is a tribute I produced for my sister's family. Almost the entire stainless is used for the portrait. Names were added to the photo. Size: 5 3/4" x 4 1/4". Click image for enlargement.

This is a sample tribute of Lt. George Dixon, commander of the confederate submarine H. L. Hunley. This sample was done for SC Senator Glenn McConnell. Size: 6" diameter. The metal was a dark blue stainless. This photo was taken outdoors, so the dark areas of the photo is actually the reflection of trees. The bust from which the photo was taken is a facial reconstruction done by forensic artist Sharon Long, assisted by physical anthropologist Dr. Douglas Owsley. Click image for enlargement.

This is another tribute I did for my mother, Louise. Size: 4 1/4" x 5.75". Even in the enlargement it is very hard to capture the precision of the lettering. I used 4 pt. Times New Roman to get four paragraphs of text. I used a digital frame. The photo was old without much contrast, but it produced a suitable image. One thing that does not come through with scans of highly reflective material like this stainless is the color. This steel is actually a light, smoke gray. Click image for enlargement.

This is a larger version of the tribute to my father. I wanted to include this sample because of the different metal finish. This is a dark blue brushed stainless. Because of the brushed finish the scan was able to distinguish the color more closely. The images are actually brighter than the scan depicts. This is probably due to the metal's brushed surface as well. It demonstrates we can image this finish, but we recommend staying with the mirror finish super black.
